Films: Let's Scare Jessica to Death (1971)

Summary: We honestly had a hard time figuring this one out. Is it the titular character who's doing all the crazy things, or is there some legitimately supernatural chaos abound?

History: Back in the 19th century, the Bishop family’s daughter Abigail drowned herself in a lake in Connecticut on her wedding day. Some say she still remains there as a vengeful vampire. Now, the house of the Bishops is occupied by the slightly unhinged Jessica and her friends. But creepy stuff is happening now, and Jessica seems to be the only one really noticing it.

Notable Kills: If there actually were any, nothing special.

Final Fate: Things seem to completely unravel, with previously dead characters coming back, previously alive characters suddenly dying, Abigail seemingly returning as Emily, and all Jessica can do is get out of dodge and paddle away from the land.

Powers/Abilities: Possibly manipulating reality.

Weakness: None

Scariness Factor: 3.5-Part of what makes this whole affair so unnerving is how we can't be sure whether it's real or not. If anything, it could just be Jessica's psychosis completely going haywire and making horrific urban legends a reality.

Trivia: -Apparently, the original script, called "It Drinks Hippy Blood" (no, really), was a satirical romp in which a bunch of hippies are picked off by an underwater entity. We actually kind of wanted to see that instead.

-Emily/Abigail's actor, Mariclare Costello, didn't have a very fun time on set, as she hid out of guilt when it came to the scene in which she had to kill Jessica's pet mouse, and almost got dubbed over when she had to sing a little folk song.
